Special Purpose Machinery
On occasion we have been asked to produce special purpose machinery. This activity usually involves more traditional mechanical design skills such as mechanisms, tolerances, limits/fits and sometimes motion control systems.
We enjoy the “turn-key” nature of these tasks as they enable us to see the fruits of our labour when we deliver the machines and see them operate for the first time.
We have several suppliers who are ideally suited to building special purpose machinery, such as that shown below.
Jigs & Fixtures
Once we have designed a product and have seen the project through to production it is a natural progression to assist with the design of manufacturing jigs and fixtures.
Assembling jigs like those shown below enables many of us to get back to “grass roots” engineering and what attracted us to choosing careers in mechanical engineering in the first place!
