Structural analysis of an equipped full-height 19″ EP rack product during installation
A discrete package of work on the structural analysis of an equipped 19″ rack to support a client’s in-house design team.
The analysis considered stresses and deflections during installation, including an analysis of bucking of structural members. Analysis extended to the identification and recommendation of suitable lifting equipment.
Simulation was conducted through hand calculations of joints using recognised empirical methods, static 3D FEA analysis using SolidWorks Simulation and buckling analysis using ANSYS.
